Itinerary

Immerse yourself in Freycinet National Park with this 5.5-hour guided walk. Discover the park's dramatic pink granite peaks, jewel-coloured waters, pure white sands, inspiring vegetation and abundant wildlife.

Departing from the Freycinet Lodge, your dedicated guide will take you over the spectacular Hazards mountain range to the Wineglass Bay Lookout, where views of the iconic bay will be sure to astound you. After a quick photo (your guide will be sure to take a group shot to send to you later), you’ll make the short decent along the Eucalypt-lined track to the pristine white sands of Wineglass Bay beach. Here your guide will offer a short break to enjoy a hot drink and take in the breathtaking scenery.

The next leg will take you to the west of the peninsula to the stunning Hazards Beach. Leaving only your footprints, you will learn of the unique animals that call this special place home and the history behind its magnificent shores and pink granite peaks. From here, you will be guided to the northern-most point of the beach to enjoy a picnic lunch and wander along the beach looking for treasures.

The track then continues around Mount Mayson, hugging the rocky coastline with sensational views across Great Oyster Bay. Arriving back at the walkers car park, we’ll transfer the short drive back to the Freycinet Lodge where the tour will conclude.

What our guests say

“Sara helped us plan our trip to Freycinet National Park and then took us on a wonderful half day hiking tour of Wineglass Bay and Hazards Beach. She also provided transport to and from Launceston, plus a delicious stop for lunch where I had the best fish and chips ever! Highly recommended!

“What a great opportunity to explore well into the Freycinet Peninsula with the luxury of a boat trip back to the lodge. We would strongly encourage anyone venturing to Coles Bay to take this spectacular walk in your very capable and friendly hands.”

Jenny- Australia

“The coffee & tea on the rocks overlooking Wineglass Bay was something straight out of a postcard. Walking over to Hazards and having a picnic on the beach was just so perfect. We were the only ones on the entire beach and it was truly memorable and lunch was delicious. Sara is the perfect guide because we immediately felt like we were spending the afternoon with a good friend.”
